Another view of what was to become the Middletown allotments area. Just discernable is the railway bridge to the left of which was a pig pen belonging to Mr George Paylor whose wife, Emily, had a grocery shop and home at the end of Castle Street (No 82). A lady who witnessed ball lightning passing through the shop window, through the wall leading into the living room and exploding in the chimney breast.
