Henry Alcock born 8 Aug 1791 Skipton, Yorkshire.
Banker, Solicitor and Magistrate for the West Riding of Yorkshire.
1841 / 1861 census: Resident in Airville House, Skipton (built in 1836 ).
Died 23 Dec 1869 Skipton, Yorkshire.
The Aireville estate was sold to John Bonny Dewhurst, textile mill owner, in 1873.
William Alcock (his father?) was a founding member of the Craven Bank - the one with "the notes wi' the cow on".
Married (1) 14 Nov 1816 at York, Catharine Sarah Anne Bacon, b. 1795, d. 22 Nov 1832, Skipton. 7 Children, all born in Skipton.
Married (2) 25 Aug 1834 at Bloomsbury St George, Middlesex, Belle Anne Bacon, b. 1805, Woodbridge, Suffolk, England, d. 21 Oct 1895, Christchurch, Hampshire. 8 Children, all born in Skipton.
Catherine Bacon and Belle Bacon - were they related?

Catherine Sarah Ann Bacon was Belle Ann Bacon's older sister. Their father was Major Charles Cornet Bacon and mother was Sarah Smith, all this information can be found on Ancestry.

I have an envelope addressed to Henry Alcock, Skipton, Yorks, in his capacity as a solicitor, from W Atkinson, dated November 23rd 1841, opened November 25th, with a fine strike of a black maltese cross cancelling a 1d red.
