The Film "It always Rains on Sunday" was released in 1948.

The cinema was opened in 1928 as the Morrisseum, named after the owner Mark Morriss. It was renamed Regal in 1932 and later became an Odeon. It ceased to be a cinema in 1988 when it became a Bingo Hall.

As the old Assembly Hall in Ermysteds was too small to host all the parents and pupils, the annual Prize-Giving ceremoney was always held here, by then re-named the Odeon.

I seem to remember that Wilbefort's stuck around until the mid 70s at least. My aunt worked there around that time.
